Value of Information (VoI)-based data priority in cooperative perception networks.
This project focuses on Value of Information (VoI)-based cooperative perception strategies, marking a crucial advancement towards safer autonomous driving. In the era of connected and autonomous vehicles (CAVs), the sheer volume of sensor data generated can overwhelm communication networks.
Our research addresses this by developing intelligent mechanisms to filter and prioritize data based on its "value" for safety-critical tasks. By enabling vehicles to share perception data intelligently, we aim to reduce collisions and accidents in complex traffic scenarios, ensuring robust and reliable connectivity.
- ✓ Value of Information (VoI): Metrics to quantify the relevance of sensor data for specific tasks.
- ✓ Intelligent Data Filtering: Algorithms that prioritize transmission of critical information to optimize bandwidth.
Project Aims
- • Determining the relevance of information in real-time.
- • Significantly lowering latency for split-second decision-making.
- • Optimizing bandwidth usage in dense vehicular networks.
