Md. Noor-A-Rahim is currently serving as an Assistant Professor in the School of Computer Science and Information Technology at University College Cork (UCC), Ireland. He is also one of the lead Principal Investigators (PIs) of nasc Research at UCC. Prior to this role, he was a Senior Researcher and Marie Curie Fellow within the same school. He also held the position of Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. Before that, he served as a faculty member in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at Khulna University of Engineering & Technology from 2009 to 2016. Dr. Rahim earned his Ph.D. degree from the School of Information Technology and Mathematical Sciences at University of South Australia (now Adelaide University) in 2015. In recognition of his academic excellence, he was awarded the Michael Miller Medal for presenting the most outstanding Ph.D. thesis in 2015. One of his papers has also been recognized with the Best Paper Award at IEEE Vehicular Networking Conference (VNC) 2025. As PI and Co-PI, he has contributed to securing over €1.5 million euros in research funding to date. He has recently secured €731K of funding as PI as part of the Frontiers of the Future from Research Ireland. He is also in management committees of three European Union (EU) COST Action projects. He is currently supervising (co-supervising) six Ph.D. students and one postdoctoral researcher. He is a Senior Member of IEEE and currently serves as an Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology.
