Open Positions: SHIELD Project (2 PhDs, 1 Postdoc)
We are currently hiring 2 fully-funded PhD students and 1 Postdoctoral Researcher for the SHIELD project, funded as part of the Frontiers for the Future Programme from Research Ireland.
- 🎓 PhD Positions: 48 months, fully-funded (Tax-free stipend of €25,000 p.a.)
- 🔬 Postdoc Position: 24 Months, Fixed-Term, Whole-time Post. Salary: €46,306 - €52,863 p.a. (possibility of extension up to 48 months, contingent on the candidate’s performance and the continued availability of funding)

Requirements
We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:
- 📚 Background: We are seeking applicants with experience and interest in one or more of the following areas: wireless networks and communications, machine learning and computer vision, intelligent transportation systems, intelligent sensing and localization, and signal processing.
- 📄 Publication Record: Strong publication record with previous publications in reputed venues.
- 💻 Programming: Strong programming competency is a must.
- 🗣️ Language: Must meet the English language requirements provided by University College Cork (UCC).
Specific Requirements:
- 🎓 PhD Candidates: Must hold a Master's degree.
- Note: Successful non-EU candidates may need to apply for a non-EU tuition fee waiver to get full tuition fee waivers.
- 🔬 Postdoc Candidates: A candidate with a recent PhD will be preferred (expertise in Wireless Networks and AI/ML is essential). Candidates who will be finishing their PhD soon are also strongly encouraged to apply, provided they have a strong publication record.
